My hair used to be full of body & luster but very fine and curly. Now its dry, dull and thinning around the edges.

Stop using those No Lye Kits, they are your problem ... they over expose and under process your hair causing it to dry out and thin around the edges. Try my Mild Relaxer kit Sensitive Delicate Relaxer, Calming Neutralizing Shampoo, Revitalizing Conditioner (leave 10-15 mins rinse) Set or wrap your hair using Moisture Silk Mousse mixed my Leave-in Conditioner.
To regain your hair take the B-Natural Hair Vitamins (2 a day) and dot  Root Therapy Scalp Stimulator on your scalp once a day and massage. It will help stimulate more blood circulation to your scalp and provide your hair with the necessary nutrients to grow strong thick hair.  Please read my book WHY ARE BLACK WOMEN LOSING THEIR HAIR? to help you establish a RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR HAIR.

I have a senior resident who is experiencing hair loss due to medication and is thinning in the top area of her hair.  What do you suggest in your product line that will help with hair growth?

Medication is tough on the hair however, you may try to combat it's effect with nutrition. She may take my B-Natural Hair Vitamins (2 a day) and dot my Root Therapy Scalp Stimulator on the scalp once a day and massage. This will help fortify the blood system with the necessary nutrients to grow strong, thick hair and increase the blood circulation to the scalp expediting growth. Also she may want to use our Cool Stimulating Shampoo and Cool Stimulating Conditioner followed with the Cool Glow-N-Grow Pomade for the scalp as a moisturizer.

What's The Proper Way To Apply Mean Protein?

Mean Protein is designed to stop hair breakage however, it can be over used. For severe breakage, shampoo and then apply Mean Protein by placing it in a spray bottle or comb it though evenly. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes and rinse. Follow with the Revitalizing Conditioner (leave on 10-20 mins rinse). Use heat from a dryer or a hot steamed towel over these conditioning treatments otherwise place a plastic cap over it. You may mix the two together for protective or preventative damage treatment no more than twice a week for natural or relaxed hair.

I have read your book-Why Are Black Women Losing Their Hair. My question is, "Why do you say in your book that products with alcohol contribute to the loss of our hair" yet the Glo n Grow Hairdressing contains alcohol? Why the contradiction?

Good Question - but let me clarify!  Glo N Grow contains Certearyl Alcohol and not Ethyl Alcohol.  It is Ethyl alcohol that is commonly referred to as "alcohol".  Certearyl Alcohol is a waxy, crystalline solid used as an emulsifier that thickens or adds body to the pomade.  This blend is derived from naturally occurring fatty acids from coconut oil and provides a creaminess to products. Ethyl Alcohol is a drying agent which robs the hair of its moisture and constricts it.  So when the book refers to "alcohol" it is ethyl alcohol we are writing about.  I do apologize for any confusion I may have caused and hope this clears it up for you!
